In short: XXXX VPN has no accounts, and we (Viorta) do not collect, receive or sell your personal data. When you connect, your internet traffic travels through a VPN server run by our server provider, so that server can see your IP address and the connection. The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, which collects some device data as described below. The Private Browser deletes its cookies, cache and history when you close it.
XXXX VPN: Private Browser (Android, package com.xxxx.vpnsecure)\nDeveloper: Viorta. Contact: support@viorta.com
Information stored on your device
The app keeps a few things only on your phone, so it can pick up where you left off:
- the last server you connected to and its connection settings, and the servers you marked as favourites;
- when the current connection started, so it can show the connection timer;
- which Pro servers you unlocked and until when;
- your theme choice (light, dark or system);
- how many times you have connected and when the app last asked for a rating, so it doesn't ask too often;
- your ad privacy choices, kept by Google's consent tool.
None of this is sent to us. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android Settings, deletes it.
How the VPN works
When you tap connect, Android asks you once to allow the app to set up a VPN connection. The app then opens an encrypted tunnel using the OpenVPN protocol between your phone and the server you picked, and your internet traffic travels through that tunnel. Websites and apps you use see the server's IP address instead of yours.
The server list and the VPN servers are provided by our VPN infrastructure provider, OneConnect. To fetch the list and connect, the app contacts OneConnect's service, and the server you connect to necessarily receives your device's IP address, the time of the connection and the traffic that passes through it. We do not receive or see this information. How long the provider keeps connection records is set by the provider, and we do not claim that no records are kept.
A VPN protects your traffic between your phone and the server, for example on public Wi-Fi. It does not make you anonymous, and the websites you visit can still recognise you if you sign in to them.
Private Browser
The Private Browser opens web pages inside the app, like an incognito window. When you close it, its cookies, cache, site storage, form data and history are deleted. It blocks third-party cookies, never shares your location with websites, blocks pages whose security certificate isn't trusted, and asks before every download. Websites you visit receive the usual information a browser sends, such as your IP address (the VPN server's, while you are connected) and browser type, under their own privacy policies. Searches typed into the address bar go to Google Search.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob (Google LLC): full-screen ads at some transitions, native ads on the home screen and in the server list, and an optional rewarded ad that unlocks a Pro server for 60 minutes. You never have to watch a rewarded ad.
To serve and measure ads, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google:
- your Android advertising ID;
- your IP address, used to estimate an approximate location;
- interactions with ads, such as ads shown and tapped;
- crash logs and diagnostics from the ads library.
Google uses this data as described in its privacy policy and in how Google uses information from apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in Android Settings under Privacy, Ads.
Your consent (EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland)
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form before ads are requested, and personalized ads are shown only if you agree. You can change your choice at any time in the app's Settings, under ad privacy.
Google Play services
The app uses Google Play's in-app update and in-app review features. They run through the Google Play Store app on your phone and are covered by Google's privacy policy. We only see the public ratings and reviews you choose to post.
Permissions
- VPN service, to create the VPN connection. Android asks you before the first connection.
- Notifications and foreground service, to show the connection status while the VPN runs.
- Internet and network state, to fetch servers, connect and load ads.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Data retention, sharing and security
We hold no personal data about you, so we have nothing to retain, share or sell. The VPN tunnel is encrypted with OpenVPN, ad traffic uses HTTPS, and data on your phone is protected by Android's app sandbox.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the CCPA and Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) give you rights over your personal data, including access and deletion. Because we hold none, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. For data held by Google, use the controls described above or contact Google. For connection records at the VPN server, contact us and we will pass your request to our provider.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date. Significant changes are also mentioned in the app's release notes on Google Play.
