In short: Owser is free for you to use and is paid for by ads. Clear really erases your session, so don't count on getting it back. Websites you open are run by others, Block Web Ads lets some ads through, and the app comes as it is.
These terms are an agreement between you and Viorta, an independent developer, about Owser: Private Browser (Android, package com.viorta.owser). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you don't, please uninstall it.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control. The app, its code, design and text remain ours or our licensors'; the open source components it includes are listed, with their licences, in the app's Settings.
Websites you visit
Owser shows websites run by other people. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content, their offers, the files you download from them, or how they handle your data. You are responsible for how you use the web through the app, and for following the law and the rules of the sites you visit.
Clearing your session
Clear, Clear & exit, swiping Owser away from Recents and Auto-clear erase your open tabs, cookies and site data for good, which also signs you out of websites. We cannot recover a cleared session. App lock and Hide from screenshots make it harder for someone holding your phone to see your tabs, but they are no substitute for your phone's own lock.
Block Web Ads and ads
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob on its own screens. Block Web Ads turns on for one hour each time you watch one rewarded ad, up to three hours, and themes can be unlocked the same way; watching is always optional, and if no ad is available, the feature stays off until one is. Block Web Ads works from public filter lists: some ads will still get through, and a site can occasionally break, in which case you can allow ads on that site. Unlocks and time left have no money value and cannot be sold, exchanged or transferred.
What you may not do
- use the app for anything unlawful;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- sell, rent or distribute the app or any part of it;
- generate fake ad views or taps, or tamper with the ads in a way that breaks the app.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running well, but we don't promise that it will be error-free, that it will open every website correctly, that it will block any particular ad or harmful page, or that it will work on every device.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Viorta is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or sessions, arising from your use of the app or of the websites you open in it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what data is processed when you use the app, and by whom.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version is published at this address with a new effective date, and applies from that date.
