In short: CannersDocs is free for you to use and is paid for by ads. Your documents are yours and live only on your phone, so keep copies of the ones that matter. Scan only what you have the right to scan, and know that the app comes as it is: check important text before you rely on it.
These terms are an agreement between you and Viorta, an independent developer, about CannersDocs: PDF Scanner & OCR (Android, package com.viorta.cannersdocs). By installing or using the app you accept them. If you don't, please uninstall it.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control. You may use it for your studies, your work or your business. The app, its code, design and text remain ours or our licensors'; the open source components and models it includes are listed, with their licences, in the app's Settings.
Your documents
Everything you scan, import or create in the app belongs to you (or to whoever owns it), and we claim no rights over it. Your documents are stored only on your phone: we cannot see them, back them up or restore them. Uninstalling the app, clearing its storage, or losing or changing your phone can erase them. Export the documents you need to keep.
You are responsible for what you scan and share. Only scan, copy, sign or watermark documents you have the right to use, and follow the law and any rules that apply to them, including those on identity documents and other people's personal data.
Text recognition and processing
Page detection, filters and text recognition (OCR) are automatic and can make mistakes: a word can be misread, an edge can be missed, and compression lowers image quality. Check the result before you rely on it, above all for numbers, names, amounts and dates. A password-protected PDF is only as strong as its password, and we cannot recover a password you forget.
Pro tools and ads
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Each Pro tool unlocks on its own for 60 minutes after you watch one rewarded ad, which is always optional; if no ad is available, the tool stays locked until one is. Unlocks have no money value and cannot be sold, exchanged or transferred.
What you may not do
- use the app for anything unlawful, including forging documents or signatures, or copying content you have no right to copy;
- copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
- sell, rent or distribute the app or any part of it;
- generate fake ad views or taps, or tamper with the ads in a way that breaks the app.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running well, but we don't promise that it will be error-free, that its text recognition will be accurate, or that it will work on every device.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Viorta is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost or damaged documents, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what data is processed when you use the app, and by whom.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version is published at this address with a new effective date, and applies from that date.
