In short: you may use Browser VPN for your own personal, lawful browsing. The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Rewards unlocked with ads have no cash value. A VPN changes the IP address websites see; it does not make you anonymous and does not make unlawful activity lawful. The app is provided as is, and these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia.

Browser VPN ("the app") is made by Viorta, an independent developer ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy (https://viorta.com/apps/browser-vpn/privacy). If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is meant for people aged 13 and over; if you are under the age of majority where you live, please make sure a parent or guardian has reviewed these terms and the Privacy Policy with you.

1. License to use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. These terms do not give you any other rights to the app.

The VPN part of the app includes open-source software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 (OpenVPN and OpenVPN for Android, through the OneConnect SDK). Those components are covered by their own licenses, listed in Settings > Open-source licenses together with our written offer of their source code; nothing in these terms limits the rights those licenses give you.

2. Acceptable use

When using the app, you must not:

  • use the app or its VPN for anything unlawful where you are or where the VPN location is, including fraud, hacking, spreading malware, infringing other people's rights, or accessing content in breach of the law;
  • send spam, attack, scan or overload other networks or services through the VPN, or use it to share files you have no right to share;
  • interfere with, overload or try to get unauthorized access to the VPN servers, the server list, or the services the app uses;
  • copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or create derivative works of the app, except where the law or the open-source licenses in section 1 expressly allow it;
  • extract or reuse the app's service keys, or use the VPN servers outside the app;
  • tamper with the ads in the app, click ads you are not interested in, use automated means to view or click ads, or try to get rewards without watching the ads that give them;
  • sell, rent, sublicense or otherwise exploit the app commercially.

Using a VPN may be restricted or forbidden in some countries, and some websites do not allow VPN access. You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you and the terms of the websites you visit.

3. The VPN and the browser

  • The VPN locations and servers are provided by a third-party VPN service (OneConnect). Locations, speeds and availability can change, and a location may be slow, full or unavailable at times.
  • A VPN hides your IP address from the websites you visit and encrypts your traffic up to the VPN server. It does not make you anonymous: websites can still recognize you, for example when you sign in or through cookies, and the VPN server operator sees your real IP address, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
  • "VPN covers" lets you choose whether only this browser or the whole phone uses the VPN. With "This browser only", other apps keep your normal connection.
  • Websites you open are run by others; we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
  • "Block web ads" blocks many, not all, ads on the websites you visit, and some sites may not work fully with it on.

4. Pro features and ad rewards

Some features are opened by watching optional reward ads, or for free by using the app:

  • Pro locations: open for 2 hours per ad (watching again restarts the 2 hours), or 24 hours for a 7-day protected streak. Once a day, a slow speed check also offers a 10-minute Pro preview without an ad; it does not add to an open Pro window.
  • Block web ads: on for 24 hours per ad, and each ad is one of 3 steps toward keeping it for good; opening the browser on 10 different days also keeps it.
  • Pro themes: kept for good after 2 ads per theme, or one theme for every 3rd day of a protected streak.
  • New-tab styles (wallpapers and tile styles for normal new tabs; private tabs stay plain): all kept for good after 2 ads, or after a 5-day protected streak.
  • No ad breaks for 15 minutes: pauses full-screen ad breaks only; ad panels stay.

Each reward is stated on its button before the ad and is given once the ad has played to the end. Rewards and Pro features exist only inside the app on your device. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, goods or services, cannot be transferred or sold, and are lost if you uninstall the app or clear its data. Progress toward a permanent unlock never expires while the app's data is on your device. We may change, add or remove Pro features and rewards in future versions; a time-limited reward you already earned runs for its stated time.

5. Ads in the app

The app is free because it shows ads from Google AdMob: ad panels marked "Ad", full-screen ads after some finished tasks (never before you connect and never on web pages), and optional reward ads you choose to watch. The Privacy Policy describes where and how often they appear. Ads are chosen and served by Google, not by us. We are not responsible for the products or services advertised, and any dealings you have with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser.

6. Intellectual property

The app, its name, design, graphics, text and code (except the open-source components in section 1 and third-party content) belong to Viorta or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use our name or logo without our written permission.

7. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted service, a particular speed, or that the VPN will always connect or hide your IP address, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the app will be error-free or that every location will be available.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Viorta is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of the app, the VPN, the websites you visit or the ads shown. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is zero, as the app is free.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access to the VPN servers or the app, without notice, if you break these terms or if we stop offering the app or the VPN service. Sections 4 to 10 stay in effect after termination.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute will first be discussed in good faith by email; if it cannot be resolved, it will be settled by the competent courts of Indonesia, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. The effective date above changes when we do, and the latest version is always at https://viorta.com/apps/browser-vpn/terms. If you keep using the app after a change, the updated terms apply.
